How Ozonix® Works

Ozone. Hydrodynamic Cavitation. Acoustic Cavitation. Electrochemical Oxidation.

Ozonix® is a patented, Advanced Oxidation Process, which saturates contaminated water with ozone using hydrodynamic cavitation, acoustic cavitation, and electrochemical oxidation to oxidize and destroy micro-organisms, while generating no harmful disinfection byproducts. As water cycles through the Ozonix® Reactor, bacteria cell walls are destroyed and contaminates are oxidized, returning clean water that is ready for re-use and future operations.

The Process

Ozone has the ability to oxidize a wide range of pollutants including bacteria and heavy metals. Ozone purifies water 3000 times faster than chlorine, can be generated on site, and does not require storage.

Hydrodynamic Cavitation produces localized hot spots over 900°F and shock waves around the bubble which convert ozone into hydroxyl radicals. Ozone and cavitation have a 3x disinfection multiplier when combined - accomplishing in seconds what used to take minutes.

Acoustic Cavitation works in the same way as hydrodynamic cavitation and removes biofilms by reducing the tensile strength of water.

Electrochemical Oxidation Electrochemical oxidation uses electricity to create hydroxyl radicals. It is proven highly successful in removing sulfides, nitrogen species, and up to 99% of iron in water sources. It is also extremely effective in removing calcium carbonate (a primary source of scaling) from water because the electricity creates the aqueous form of calcium carbonate.
